Adoption Information

Each year, hundreds of healthy, lovable, animals are left homeless in Monroe County, for a variety of reasons.

G.R.A.S.P.’s primary goal is to give a second chance to animals picked up by Greece Animal Control. All of the animals in G.R.A.S.P.’s care are given a check up by a veterinarian, have received age appropriate vaccinations and are spayed or neutered, BEFORE they are put up for adoption.

Are you looking for a new furry companion? Check out the links showcasing our available cats and dogs. If you find a pet you are interested in adopting, please complete an online adoption form. You can meet our pets by attending one of our adoption events at Petco in Greece (Thursdays from 6-8pm and Saturdays from 11am to 3pm) or if you are interested in meeting a specific cat or dog, please give us a call at 585-234-1953 to arrange a time to meet that particular pet.

Our fee for adopting a kitten six months and younger is $115, for cats over 6 months the adoption fee is $90, and the fee for senior cats, 8 years and older, is $50. Our normal fee for adopting a dog/puppy is $200. This fee helps offset expenses incurred, since all of G.R.A.S.P.'s animals are examined by a local vet, receive all age-appropriate vaccinations and are spayed/neutered.

Please be aware that we are not able to adopt to anyone living more than two hours away from Rochester, NY. Some of these fur children came from bad situations and to be sure that they are in the right environment, home visits are necessary.

Adopting a pet is a lifelong commitment and should be entered into as such.
Future expenses should be carefully taken into consideration.
G.R.A.S.P. reserves the right to approve or deny any application.

Thanks for your interest!
