Answer the call for Delia
The urgent call came late in the night.
Her life was hanging by a thread. If GRASP could assume her care, the vets believed they could save her. Her only other alternative was euthanasia.
But the decision needed to be made NOW!
She had just been brutally attacked by a large, vicious dog. It clamped down on her neck and chest, shaking her tiny body. Its teeth pierced her skin and tore open her chest. She screamed in agony when its powerful jaws cracked her little ribs.
She was just a little bitty thing, barely 10 pounds. She had big, beautiful brown eyes with little golden eyebrows that dance when she looked around the room. Her ears were long and covered in fluffy fur.
Such terror and confusion and fear she must have felt… and betrayal - we believe this attack happened in her own home.
The doctors worked into the night to save her and we prayed until morning. Because of their heroics and by the grace of God, she is still with us!
Today she is safe and loved and healing in a loving GRASP foster home. We call her Delia.
She's brave and strong and filled with love. She's not in pain and she's not afraid. She's just looking forward – to a life of love, and treats, and belly rubs!
Adoption fees only cover a fraction of our expenses.
As you can imagine, an adoption fee for someone like Delia couldn't even cover a fraction of what it costs to rescue her and provide her with the medical, physical and social care that she needs until she finds her furever home.
Without the generosity of people like you we would not be able to save innocent lives like Delia.
