Meet Mildred

Had we not saved her, this poor sweet girl would surely have perished alone.  Mildred was very old, and she was blind. We don't know how long or EVEN HOW she was fending for herself alone.

Vulnerable, on the streets, and unable to see.

When we found her she was unrecognizable, emaciated and her fur severely matted. Her nails were so long, they curled onto themselves painfully digging into her tender paws.

Mildred deserved to live her last days in safety, love and warmth.

And she got that happy ending because of compassionate people like you. Mildred lived for just one short year, but it was a very good year for both her and her adopted family.

GRASP's monthly giving club is named in her honor.

Without GRASP all unclaimed animals are simply euthanized

It's an uncomfortable truth that Animal Control is NOT a no-kill shelter. Pets unclaimed after the standard holding time are routinely euthanized. GRASP was founded almost 30 years ago to be a bridge between abandoned and unclaimed pets and their loving furever homes.

We've spent 28 years cultivating a great working relationship with Animal Control, and with your help, we've saved over 500 lives this last year.

Adoption fees only cover a fraction of our expenses.

As you can imagine, an adoption fee for someone like Mildred couldn't even cover a fraction of what it costs to rescue her and provide her with the medical, physical and social care that she needs until she finds her furever home.

Without the generosity of people like you we would not be able to save innocent lives like Mildred.
